Who This Certificate Is For

You’ve led a team for 2+ years. Maybe formally with a “Manager” title, maybe as the senior person on a shift, project or site. You’ve hired, you’ve had hard conversations, you’ve coached someone through a problem.

Common backgrounds: team leaders across any industry, retail or hospitality store managers, shift supervisors, construction site supervisors, office managers, NGO program leads.

What You’ll Need To Bring

Real, current evidence of the work you do on the job. Your partner RTO assesses you against the specific units of competency in the qualification, so the evidence should show those skills being applied in practice. The more relevant the evidence, the smoother the assessment.

  • Photos, videos and records of work you are currently doing on the tools or on the job โ€” clearly showing each unit’s skills in practice
  • Workplace documents you produce: care plans, shift notes, site reports, job sheets, invoices, plans you’ve worked from
  • Two professional references from supervisors or senior colleagues who can verify your skills
  • Previous training records, short course certificates, workplace documents or role-specific licences relevant to the qualification
  • Resume or work history showing length of time working in the field
  • Any third-party reports the partner RTO requests to verify specific units

Your partner RTO will tell you exactly which units need extra evidence. We help you map what you already have against the units of competency required.

Common Questions

Diploma of Leadership and Management โ€” Your Questions Answered

How is the qualification assessed through RPL?+
RPL assessment is evidence-based. You may need to provide references, photos, training records and evidence of relevant Australian workplace experience where required. The partner RTO reviews the evidence against the training product requirements and determines the assessment outcome.
Who issues the qualification?+
If RPL is suitable and competency requirements are met, the qualification is issued by the relevant ASQA-registered partner RTO. Formally Qualified is a third-party student recruitment and marketing provider and does not issue qualifications, provide RTO student support services, or make assessment decisions.
Is this qualification nationally recognised?+
Yes. BSB50420 is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It’s issued by an ASQA-registered partner Registered Training Organisation and issued by the ASQA-registered partner RTO where assessment requirements are met.
Can I do RPL if I trained overseas?+
Overseas training or experience may support an RPL application. Formal qualification equivalency or migration-related skills assessments are conducted by authorised bodies, not by FQ. Evidence requirements and assessment decisions are set by the partner RTO.
What if I don’t have all the evidence?+
Tell us what evidence you currently have and FQ can help identify possible gaps before referral. If further evidence or training is required, the partner RTO will advise the available options before assessment.
