This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions.This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafรฉs, and coffee shops. Who This Certificate Is For

You’re a group operations manager, area manager, hotel GM, or established hospitality business owner. You’ve held senior responsibility across multiple venues or a large operation for 3+ years.

Common backgrounds: group operations managers, area managers, hotel general managers, multi-site venue owners, hospitality group COOs.

What You’ll Need To Bring

Real, current evidence of the work you do on the job. The partner RTO assesses applicants against the specific units of competency in the qualification, so the evidence should show those skills being applied in practice. The more relevant the evidence, the smoother the assessment.

  • Photos, videos and records of work you are currently doing on the tools or on the job โ€” clearly showing each unit’s skills in practice
  • Workplace documents relevant to the qualification, such as reports, plans, rosters, service records, business documents or other role-specific records
  • Two professional references from supervisors or senior colleagues who can verify your skills
  • Previous training records, short course certificates, workplace documents or role-specific licences relevant to the qualification
  • Resume or work history showing length of time working in the field
  • Any third-party reports the partner RTO requests to verify specific units

How is the qualification assessed through RPL?+
RPL assessment is evidence-based. You may need to provide references, photos, training records and evidence of relevant Australian workplace experience where required. The partner RTO reviews the evidence against the training product requirements and determines the assessment outcome.
Who issues the qualification?+
If the partner RTO determines RPL is suitable and all competency and administrative requirements are met, the partner RTO may issue the qualification. Formally Qualified is a third-party student recruitment and marketing provider and does not issue qualifications, enrol students, provide RTO training or student support services, or make assessment decisions.
Is this qualification nationally recognised?+
Yes. SIT60322 is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It’s issued by an ASQA-registered partner Registered Training Organisation and issued by the ASQA-registered partner RTO where assessment requirements are met.
Can I do RPL if I trained overseas?+
Overseas training or experience may support an RPL application. Formal qualification equivalency or migration-related skills assessments are conducted by authorised bodies, not by FQ. Evidence requirements and assessment decisions are set by the partner RTO.
